Products compatible with nature include properties such as biodegradability* and compostability*. Manufacturing goods with these features have become critical to the future of life on our planet. Additionally products made with the waste of other products are especially desirable as they reduce waste load on the environment.
At Dartpac we are on the leading edge of this philosophy of manufacturing in South Africa. Our efforts in achieving these goals are apparent in each of our divisions: Moulded Fibre Division
Our 2 and 4 Cup Carriers are manufactured using:
Paper Cup Division 85% of all our Paper Cups are compostable and biodegradable made with corn starch lined paper. Paper Lid Division Our own developed lids are made from paper fibre instead of the conventional plastic - a true innovation aimed at replacing the single use plastic sip lid. *Biodegradeable means the capacity of a material to decompose over time as a result of biological activity. This process depends on the conditions (e.g. location, temperature, presence of microorganisms, etc.)
*Compostable means that a product is capable of disintegrating into natural elements in a compost environment, leaving no toxicity in the soil. This typically must occur in about 90 days.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING
An Urgent NeedPlastic is a wonderful material for mankind, but when it is used for low cost, disposable, single use products it becomes very destructive to both man and beast, terrestrially and aquatically.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?
Our JourneyRecyclability. Biodegradability. Compostability. All amazing words but how do we get there? We believe that the journey toward sustainability requires imagination in every industry field. One could call it 'imaginability'...

BUT DOES IT WORK?
A Proof StudyThe best proof is experience. Follow our in-house experiment as we test the composting and degrading performance of our moulded fibre lids and compostable paper cups vs regular plastic lined cups and plastic lids.
